Notifications Desktop App

Overview

Talkative interaction notifications are available via the engage.talkative.uk browser console or via the Talkative desktop application.

Due to Chrome's recent throttling of background activity, Talkative recommends that the desktop application is used.

The desktop application provides both visual and audio notifications.

Set Up

Each agent needs to unzip the files and then run the “Engage-App.exe” file.

Users must have 'Quiet Hours' disabled within Windows, otherwise notifications will not display.

To check this, you can click the speech bubble at the bottom right of your desktop to show the 'Action Centre', where you can find the Quiet Hours settings.

Log In

Log in on both engage.talkative.uk and the Desktop App using their individual account and password. The application will then load all the group/user data and monitor the queues.

Receiving Interactions

When a new interaction request comes in it will make a Windows notification and a sound of your choice. When new interactions are received, simply click the notification or go to engage.talkative.uk/queue to receive the interaction.

Disconnect

If you wish to temporarily leave the queue (e.g. you have to leave your desk temporarily), you must press 'Disconnect' AND make sure you are no longer sitting on the engage.talkative.uk/queue page. This will remove you from the queue and you will no longer receive interactions.

Once you are back and ready to receive requests again, simply untoggle this option.

Reload

If system-wide updates have been applied, pressing reload will hard-refresh the application.

Logging Out

Please note you have to log out of both the Desktop App (by pressing 'Logout') AND from within the browser console at engage.talkative.uk

The app also shows the agent’s queues and the number of queued interactions. The app will flash green in the taskbar when there are items in the queue.

Start on Startup

Windows 10

  1. Navigate to the Engage-App folder and find file you use to launch the app (Engage-App.exe), then right click and select 'Create shortcut'.

  2. Navigate to your startup folder which you can find by navigating to:

    C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    

    NOTE: Make sure to switch (User-Name) for your windows user name.
    Alternatively, press Windows+R and type shell:Startup and click OK.

  3. Copy the shortcut you created earlier into the folder window which you've jus openned.
